Gunpoint Sex Assault in Hazlet, Police Say
A Cliffwood man has been arrested and charged with an aggravated sexual assault that police say occurred in Hazlet Township on Dec. 15.

HAZLET, NJ - A Cliffwood man has been arrested and charged with an aggravated sexual assault that police say occurred in Hazlet Township on Dec. 15.
Malcolm Gatson, 40, of Cliffwood, was charged with aggravated sexual assault in Hazlet on Dec. 15, according to a public criminal complaint released by the Monmouth County prosecutor's office.
The complaint says he tied the victim up with tape and forcefully penetrated her vaginally while in possession of a firearm. He is accused of threatening the victim with the gun and then robbing her, taking her cell phone SIM card and battery.

Hazlet police did not release further information when asked by Patch about the incident. Gatson was arrested in the past week, but police say the alleged incident occurred on or around Dec. 15 of last year.
