Hazlet Home Depot Shoplifting Attempt, Police Say

A man from Jersey City was arrested last Wednesday at the store.

HAZLET, NJ - A Jersey City man was arrested after he tried to shoplift from the Hazlet Home Depot last Wednesday, police announced.

Anthony Mendoza, 35, tried to steal 12 items from the Hazlet Home Depot on Wednesday, April 19, police said, by taking a large sink out of its box and placing the 12 items in the box. In total, he is charged with trying to steal $2,975 worth of items from the Home Depot.

He was charged with a third-degree charge of shoplifting.
