Hazlet police say they investigated a phone scam, made driving while intoxicated arrests, and are investigating a road rage incident.

Hazlet police have released a list of activity between April 1 and April 7. It includes an investigation into a phone scam, driving while intoxicated arrests, and an ongoing investigation into a road rage incident.

April 1

As a result of a motor vehicle stop, a 43-year-old man from Columbia, Pennsylvania, was arrested on outstanding warrants by Patrolman Anthony Forlenza.

A 24-year-old man from Union Beach was arrested on outstanding warrants by Lt. Scott Mura, who was assisted by Union Beach police.

A 44-year-old man from Keansburg was arrested on outstanding warrants by Patrolman William Marvel.

April 2

As a result of a motor vehicle stop, a 40-year-old man from Jupiter, Florida, was arrested for DWI by Patrolman Nick Greene, who was assisted by Patrolman William Marvel.

A 76-year-old woman received a phone call by someone who claimed to work for the IRS. That person told the woman she owed $5,000 in back taxes. Chase Bank personnel became concerned as the victim was withdrawing the funds and notified police. An investigation by Detectives Mike Tristao and Jerry Laurino revealed phone call was part of a phone scam, and victim did not transfer any funds.

A 27-year-old male overdose victim at K-Mart Plaza was revived using Narcan by Patrolman Ed Schmidt, Anthony Forlenza, and Rich Willhelm.

A 28-year-old man from Eatontown was arrested on outstanding warrants by Patrolman John Fitzsimmons, who was assisted by New Jersey State Police.

April 4

A 33-year-old man from Howell was arrested on South Laurel Avenue by Patrolman Dane Frattalone for possession of a weapon.

A 36-year-old man from Keansburg was arrested on outstanding warrants by Patrolman Charleigh Dufford.

A 46-year-old man from Hazlet was arrested on outstanding warrants by Patrolman Nick Logotheits.

A 32-year-old man from Keyport was arrested on outstanding warrants by Patrolman Nick Logothetis.

April 5

A 49-year-old man from Keansburg was arrested on outstanding warrants by Patrolman Dane Frattalone.

A 20-year-old woman from Hazlet was arrested for DWI after being involved in a accident on Bedle Road.

A 21-year-old man from Union Beach was arrested on outstanding warrants on Bedle Road by Patrolman Pat Kiley.

Two Hazlet residents - a 45-year-old man and a 18-year-old man - were involved in a road rage incident on Route 36. Both reported being assaulted by the other driver. The incident is under investigation by Patrolman Pat Wood. No complaints had yet been signed.

A 45-year-old man from the Port Monmouth section of Middletown was arrested on outstanding warrants as a result of a motor vehicle stop by Patrolman Scott Randolph. He was turned over to the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Department.

A 37-year-old Long Branch resident was arrested on outstanding warrants by Patrolman Charleigh Dufford. He was turned over to Long Branch police.

April 7

A 44-year-old woman from South Amboy was arrested by Patrolman Russ Surdi on warrants. He was assisted by South Amboy police. She was transported to the Monmouth County jail.

A 34-year-old Staten Island resident was arrested as a result of a motor vehicle stop. He was charged with providing false information, possession of hypodermic syringe, and possession of narcotics. The arrest was made by Patrolman Robert Dickens.
