Hazlet Swim Club Set For July 10 Reopening
Thanks to a last-minute partnership, the Hazlet Swim & Tennis Club will reopen its doors to members on Friday.

HAZLET, NJ – After uncertainties surrounding the fate of the summer swim season, Hazlet Township has reported that its swim facilities are ready to open to members on Friday, July 10.
The reopening of the Hazlet Swim & Tennis Club comes amid a new partnership between the club and Camp Coconuts, an activity-based summer camp for kids ages 4-14. The Swim Club and Veterans Park will host Camp Coconuts with activities and swimming lessons beginning July 6. Hazlet children will receive a 50 percent discount.
According to a release by the township, the swim club membership drive announced in June did not provide sufficient funding for the facility to open. It was a last-minute partnership with Camp Coconuts that salvaged the 2020 swim season.

“This is a win-win for both Hazlet Township and Camp Coconuts,” said Hazlet Mayor Michael Glackin in a statement. “Camp Coconuts is an experienced summer camp operator with an established staff dedicated to giving kids the quintessential summer experience.”
The pools will be open to members from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Families and individuals will be required to show a signed waiver to enter. To download the two-page form, click here.

To comply with social distancing guidelines, the swim club will be divided into designated camp areas, multi-use common spaces and members-only areas.
With the abridged swim season around the corner, the swim club is also adding a new perk to its weekend rate membership, allowing members to swim weeknights after 4 p.m. at no extra cost. The Hazlet Township Committee is also revisiting membership fees paid to date. Those seeking a full refund will be accommodated, according to the township.
