Hess Corporation and Yankees Alum Deliver Hess Toy Trucks to The Unterberg Children’s Hospital at Monmouth Medical Center

Former New York Yankee Mickey Rivers helped the Hess Corporation hand out Hess Toy Trucks

As part of the Hess Toy Truck tradition, Hess Corporation recently brought some holiday cheer to young patients at The Unterberg Children’s Hospital at Monmouth Medical Center by donating Hess Toy Trucks. The donation event was part of the Hess Corporation’s annual holiday visits to hospitals across the country.

Former New York Yankee Mickey Rivers, who was integral to the team’s World Series’ wins in 1977 and 1978, was on hand to help the Hess Corporation hand out toy trucks, sign autographs and take photos with patients and their families.

At Monmouth Medical Center, there are close family ties to the Hess Family, as the hospital’s cancer center is named for Leon Hess, the late philanthropist and founder of energy giant Hess Corp, and there is special significance for his “extended” prominent New Jersey family, as well. His late wife, Norma Hess, is the sister-in-law of the late Jacqueline M. Wilentz — after whom Monmouth’s breast center is named.
