Holmdel Awarded $15K Grant From Special Olympics
The money will be used to develop more inclusive sports programs for Holmdel students.
HOLMDEL, NJ-- Holmdel Township Schools have been awarded a $15,000 grant from the Special Olympics New Jersey to help create inclusive sports programs.
The Play Unified School Partnership helps schools develop sports and physical activities for students of all ability levels.
“[This award] is really going to help our district have an all-inclusive program," John Martinez, chair of the Special Services committee for Holmdel Board of Ed said. “This is special recognition for the folks in our district who really spend a lot of time and effort working with our kids.”

“Our district’s leadership in these efforts have certainly been recognized by others in the state and these efforts are another great example of how we enact our mission to provide a comprehensive and caring educational environment that will develop the potential of every student,” Superintendent Dr. Robert McGarry said.
The grant is funded by the US and NJ Departments of Education, and the PSEG Foundation.
