HOLMDEL, NJ — This Sunday, April 28 is Holmdel's annual Earth Day celebration located at Bayonet Farms. Everyone in Holmdel is welcome to this free family- and adult-friendly celebration of nature and community from 12 noon to 5 p.m.

There will be nature crafts for children, live rock bands and folk singers, guided tours of the historic farmhouse and property, and many exhibits by great environmental organizations.

Bayonet Farm is an idyllic location for this educational and fun “rain or shine” event, as all performances take place inside handsome preserved barns. There will be an animal petting zoo and Eyes of The Wild’s “Mammal Mania” will introduce some unusual and very cute furry “rescues,” while teaching about their traits and habitats. “What’s the Buzz with Bees” is an encore presentation that was very well received last year.

There will be plenty for grown-up guests to enjoy, as well! Live locally popular rock bands and folk musicians will perform at the Red Barn Theater all afternoon. Exhibits under the Big Top will help you “Go Green!” from your own back yard to the planet beyond. There will be tours of the Bayonet farm home as well as the Laura Harding House, plus walking tours of the property.

You are welcome to hike along Holmdel’s scenic Greenway prior to the festival. There will be a guided group hike that leaves at 10 a.m. Please park at the trailhead lot at the Holmdel Park Ramanessin Section on Roberts Road, opposite the Arboretum. The hike commences at 10 a.m. and arrives at Bayonet Farm in time for the Festival.
