Holmdel GOP Announces Candidates

Marcy McMullen, Chairwoman of the Holmdel Republican Party, has announced the party’s
candidates for Township Committee. Mayor Greg Buontempo and Dr. Rocco Pascucci,
MD were unanimously selected by the Republican County Committee as the party’s
candidates for Township Committee. Ms. McMullen notes that “ we continue to
believe that leadership matters and that these two candidates continue the
tradition of positive leadership provided by the Republicans here in
Holmdel.”

Mayor Buontempo is seeking re election to the Township Committee. He has played a
pivotal role in the Township’s development of the new library which will be at
Bell Works. Mayor Buontempo has stated that “ this 17,000 square foot
library/media center will be a great asset for all the residents of Holmdel .”
The new library\media center is scheduled to be opened sometime in the Fall of
this year and is being built and paid for by the developer along with
fundraising initiatives such as the upcoming "Through the Looking Glass" themed
gala being led by Mayor Buontempo. The goal of our candidates is to fund the
entire facility without placing any financial burden on holmdel taxpayers. Mayor
Buontempo has a proven record of fiscal responsibility and ensuring that the
unique character of Holmdel is maintained.

Dr. Rocco Pascucci has previously served as a member of the Township Committee for
two terms and is seeking to return to the Township Committee. Dr. Pascucci has
been a locally practicing Pediatrician for over thirty years. “Rocco has been a
passionate advocate for fiscal responsibility and preserving the character of
Holmdel,” said McMullen. Dr Pascucci passionately added that “Community service
has always been an important part of my life.” He has been a member of the
Holmdel CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) and serves on the Holmdel
Juvenile Conference Committee and is Deputy Director of the Holmdel Office of
Emergency Management.
