Holmdel High Senior Honored With Police Scholarship
The $1,000 scholarship from the Holmdel PBA will go towards Elana Barlev's education at Indiana University.

HOLMDEL, NJ — On June 14, the Holmdel PBA was proud to award the Howard Porter Memorial Scholarship to Holmdel High School graduating senior Elana Barlev. Elana graduated on June 22 a GPA of over 4.0.
In addition to her accomplishments in the classroom, Ms. Barlev has served her peers in the district by being elected to the Executive Board of the Student Advisory Board, all four years. Additionally, she has had a seat as the student representative to the Holmdel Board of Education for the past two years. She is also a High School Transitions Leader, Youth Alliance member and Heroes and Cool Kids member. Ms. Barlev has been an active Community Servant, and has dedicated her time to organizations such as the Sunnyside Equestrian Center, Brandywine Assisted Living Facility, Lunch Break Food Kitchen of Monmouth County and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
The $1,000 scholarship will go towards Ms. Barlev’s education at Indiana University.

Upon receiving the award, she stated, “I’d like to express my deepest gratitude to the Holmdel PBA for the honor of awarding me the Howard Porter Memorial Scholarship. I feel blessed to have been raised in a town as wonderful as Holmdel and grateful for the many opportunities I’ve had to give back to our community. All of my experiences have been so rewarding, and I feel I’ve gained more from them than I have given. This generous scholarship will go far in supporting my start at Indiana University, and will remain an inspiration to me for many years to come.”
The Holmdel PBA wishes Ms. Barlev luck in her future endeavors, and knows that she will make Holmdel proud.
