Holmdel Schools Close Thursday For Snow Day
Following a snowstorm that brought several inches of snow to Holmdel, the school district has issued a snow day.
HOLMDEL, NJ - Holmdel students, pack your sleds and put on your snowsuits.
All K-12 schools in Holmdel - including Village School, Indian Hill School, W.R. Satz School and Holmdel High School - closed Thursday following a nor’easter that saw a mix of heavy snow, sleet and strong winds in Monmouth County Wednesday night into Thursday.
As of 6:30 a.m. Thursday, Holmdel saw 7 inches of snowfall, according to The National Weather Service.

JCP&L also reports that there were isolated power outages Wednesday night in Hazlet, Red Bank, Rumson, Asbury Park and the tip of Sandy Hook.
“ALL SCHOOLS WILL BE CLOSED ON THURSDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2020 FOR A SNOW DAY,” reads a notice on the district website.

Interim superintendent Dr. Leroy Seitz announced the schedule change after the Holmdel Board of Education meeting, according to a TAPinto Holmdel report.
This week marked the return of in-person classes for Holmdel students since Nov. 18, when a reported 87 students and 37 staff members were placed in quarantine.
The district initially planned to return from the all-virtual schedule on Monday, Dec. 7, with full-day sessions to follow on Dec. 14 for some students.
