Holmdel Township Committee, School Board 2016 Election Results Are In

The Mayor was easily re-elected to his seat on the Township Committee.

HOLMDEL, NJ— With all districts reporting, results are in for the Holmdel Township Committee and Board of Education.

Lori Ammirati, Chiung-yin Cheng Liu and Michael Sockol were elected to the Board of Education, ousting the scandal-battered Dennis Pavlik. Ammirati received 3,641 votes, Liu received 3,922 and Sockol received 3,011.

For Township Committee, Republican incumbents Eric Hinds and Michael Nikolis won their seats by a wide berth over their Democratic challengers. Hinds received 3,960 vores and Nikolis took home 3,843.

Their democratic challengers, Karen Strickland and Barbara Singer, took home 2,989 and 2,776 each.

Strickland posted a concession statement on her official Facebook page at 12:45 PM last night, congratulating the Republican incumbents and thanking her supporters.

"So happy that this campaign season brought out so many new people who want to get involved in all that is Holmdel," Strickland wrote. "Appreciate the support and hard work of those here who have been keeping Holmdel going over the years and shared their wisdom and knowledge with us, as well as their time and energy!"
