Holmdel Twp. Candidate And BOE Forum Oct. 14

The forum is Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Holmdel Community Center. You can submit your own questions for the candidates beforehand.

HOLMDEL, NJ — All Holmdel residents are invited to attend a candidates' forum next Monday night, Oct. 14, where the four people running for Township Committee, plus all the Board of Education candidates will be taking questions from the audience, or providing their own statements about why they should be elected.

The forum is sponsored by Citizens for Informed Land Use, a longstanding Holmdel civics organization. The election for both Township Committee and school board will be Nov. 5.

The forum will be Monday, October 14 at 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 7 p.m.) at the Holmdel Community Center.

Here are the 2019 Holmdel Township Committee Candidates. They are running for two seats open for three-year terms:

  • Mayor Eric Hinds (Republican incumbent)
  • Chiung-Yin Liu (Republican)
  • Prakash Santhana (Independent)
  • Cathy Weber (Independent)

Holmdel Board of Education Candidates: (Three seats open for three-year terms)

The four Township Committee candidates will answer pre-screened questions while BOE candidates will give their own statements. CILU will only accept questions for Township Committee candidates that are submitted electronically to rcriscione@verizon.net by October 14 at 4 p.m. or in writing by 7:15 p.m. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Questions are screened to prevent duplication and allow for a wide range of pertinent topics. Biased or provocative questions will be denied. This forum will be videotaped and posted on YouTube (Search CILU Holmdel).

All are welcome. Light refreshments will be served.
