Holmdel Woman ODs in Home, Police Use Narcan

Police found the 38-year-old Holmdel woman with a weak pulse and not breathing early Sunday morning after a drug overdose.

Holmdel, NJ - Police saved the life of a Holmdel woman on Sunday who had apparently overdosed on drugs. At approximately 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Holmdel police got a call of a woman who was unconscious and had overdosed on drugs. Sergeant Thomas Foley and Police Officer David D’Arcy responded to a private residence, where they found the 38-year-old Holmdel woman to be unresponsive with a weak pulse and not breathing.

The officers administered naloxone hydrochloride (Narcan) and performed rescue breathing. After several minutes the woman regained consciousness and was able to breath without assistance. She received further treatment by the Holmdel First Aid Squad and MONOC Paramedics.
