Breaking: A man reportedly lost his leg in a devastating motorcycle accident early Friday morning near the GSP entrance in Keyport.

KEYPORT, NJ — A man reportedly lost his leg in a devastating motorcycle accident that occurred early Friday morning, June 30, in Keyport, according to a report on the Asbury Park Press.
The accident occurred at about 5 a.m. on Highway 35 in Keyport near the Garden State Parkway entrance. A man driving a motorcycle was seen swerving by eyewitnesses. He suddenly went off the road and hit a sign in the center median. His leg was amputated at the scene, Keyport Police Chief Butch Casaletto told the Asbury Park Press.
The man, 44, was taken by helicopter to Jersey Shore University Medical Center. His name has not been released because his family has not yet been notified.

Police are waiting on blood test results, according to the report. The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved.
