In this video, Holmdel resident Dr. Renuka Verma, a pediatric infectious disease specialist who has been practicing for over 35 years and served as Director of Pediatric Infectious Disease at Monmouth Medical Center, explains exactly what the virus is and how it is different than the flu.
.
Dr. Verma reached out to Holmdel Mayor Greg Buontempo to see if there was any way she could help her fellow Holmdel residents understand this virus.
"I asked her if she would create a short video with information on COVID-19 and specifically asked her to compare it to influenza, as that is a question that is frequently asked. Dr. Verma did just that and I am happy to announce that this video is now available on our Facebook page," said Buontempo. "She is happy to answer other questions that residents have. If you have something specific you would like to ask please email me at mayor@holmdeltownship.com and we will ask Dr. Verma to post another video answering your questions."
