UPDATE: Threat Made To Holmdel School Was Another Case Of Swatting
For the third time since March, Holmdel schools have been swatting victims; on Tuesday, two other districts also received false threats.

For the third time since March, the Holmdel school system has been the victim of swatting.
The latest case, around 9:35 a.m. Tuesday morning, forced the lockdown of Indian Hill School in the township, according to Lt. Michael Smith.
Swatting is generally described as as the act of tricking emergency service personnel into dispatching a response based on a false report.

Schools in Princeton and Farmingdale received similar false threats Tuesday morning, according to Princeton police.
In Holmdel, police and emergency services responded to the school to ensure “the restoration of a safe and secure learning environment for the students at the school,’’ according to the news release from Smith.

The lockdown at Indian Hill School in Holmdel was lifted around 11:30 a.m. and all activities resumed, police said.
Three other local schools - Village, Satz and Holmdel High schools -- were placed in a less restrictive “secure-the-building” mode, but the restrictions were lifted at those buildings around 10:34 a.m., the district said.
“There was a report of a possible threat to Indian Hill (School),’’ the school district said on their Facebook page earlier Tuesday morning. “Indian Hill is in Lock Down while the police check the building. Due to the nature of the threat, no evacuation was deemed to be necessary.”
In the other two hoax cases in Holmdel, police also rushed to the school.
Last Tuesday - May 5 - around 9:35 a.m. Holmdel police received a 911 call from the principal of the W.R. Satz School. A female had called that school and said “she was in the school and was going to start killing children,’’ according to a news release from police about that case.
On Tuesday, March 31, at 10:53 a.m., someone called Village School and reported that an armed intruder was inside. Authorities later described that case as a “very costly hoax.”
Police said detectives are continuing their investigation into all three cases.
“In the meantime, the police and school officials will continue to ensure that there are no actual threats to any of the students,’’ police said.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Holmdel police at 732-946-4400.
“Thank you for your cooperation during these trying times,” Superintendent Barbara Duncan said in a note posted on the district’s website.
