Man Killed In Hazlet By NJ Transit Train Identified 11 Days Later

HAZLET, NJ — Authorities have identified a pedestrian who was fatally struck by an NJ Transit train near the Hazlet station earlier this month.

Perth Amboy resident Amilcar Cuxum, 24, was identified as the victim nearly two weeks after the incident, a representative from the New Jersey Department of Transportation confirmed to Patch.

Cuxum was hit by a Penn Station-bound North Jersey Coast Line train about 4:45 a.m. Oct. 15. Read more: Man Fatally Struck By Train In Hazlet Thursday Morning

About 20 customers and crew members were on the train at the time of the incident. No injuries were reported to anyone onboard.
