Holmdel PD Seeks Domestic Violence Response Volunteers

Holmdel police are looking to expand its free, 24/7 confidential service available to victims of domestic violence. Here's how to help:

HOLMDEL, NJ - The Holmdel Township Police Department is currently recruiting volunteers to aid in its domestic violence response team, a free and confidential service available to all residents.

Nonprofit 180 Turning Lives Around will be conducting a mandatory 40-hour training course for new volunteers April 20 through May 13, Mondays/Wednesdays/Thursdays via Zoom. The course will take place from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. each night.

Residents must be 18 years or older to apply, have access to transportation, possess a valid drivers license, be willing to serve on an on-call shift basis, submit to a background check and fingerprinting and attend a monthly supervisory meeting.

Bilingual capability is helpful but not mandatory. Prior knowledge of domestic violence is not required. The deadline to apply is April 9.
