There is 7 inches on the ground in Monmouth Beach as of 6:10 a.m., police there report, with higher accumulations in some areas due to drifts.
The forecasted rate of snowfall and extremely low visibility will make driving very dangerous. Please avoid driving until the snow stops and roads have been cleared. New York City now may get up to 24 inches of snow, according to reports.
