Monmouth Medical Center Celebrates Cancer Survivors

Cancer Survivor Party Coincides with National Cancer Survivors Day on June 4

Monmouth Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health facility, will honor cancer survivors with a Cancer Survivor Party on Sunday, June 4. The event coincides with National Cancer Survivors Day, an annual Celebration of Life marked on June 4. On this day, thousands of people will gather in their communities to show the world that there is life after a cancer diagnosis – and it’s something to celebrate.

Presented by the Joe Finn Music Therapy Program at the Leon Hess Cancer Center, the free celebration of health and life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. in the parking lot adjacent to the hospital’s Radiation Oncology Department and Cheryl L. Diamond Cancer Care Pavilion.

The Cancer Survivor Party will include: live music by The Finnatics, Peter V & Blues Train (featuring Monmouth Medical Center surgeon Aron Gornish, M.D.), Hartley Stevens Band (featuring Monmouth Medical Center anesthesiologist Jeffrey Yuskevich, M.D.) and the Lakehouse Jr. Pros, as well as 107.1 The Boss, live on site; Zumba Gold demonstrations; chair massages by Body in Mind Massage Institute; ArtWorks craft project; children’s face painting; Dunkin the Therapy Mini Horse; light refreshments and samples from Dean’s Market and the Kona Ice; a photo booth; and giveaways, prizes and raffle baskets.

The event free but is limited to cancer survivors and their family members only. Registration is required by calling 888-724-7123.
