Old Bridge Man Admits to Hazlet Bank Robbery

The bank is located in Hazlet Plaza right off Rt. 35, near the Walgreens and Aldi.

Hazlet, NJ - An Old Bridge man admitted Monday to robbing a Hazlet Township Santander bank in October, said Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni.

Stephen Fedorka, 34, of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge Township, admitted that on Oct. 28, 2015 he entered the Santander Bank in Hazlet Plaza on Rt. 35 with the intention of robbing it.

He handed a note to a bank teller indicating he had a handgun and demanding she put all the money from her cashier’s drawers in a bag he handed to her. After receiving the bag containing an undisclosed amount of cash from the teller, Fedorka fled the scene and ended up at his girlfriend’s home nearby. He stole her car, fled the area, only to be arrested Nov. 1 after returning to his girlfriend’s residence to retrieve some personal items.
