Progressives lead Holmdel ballot reform push

Wake up Holmdel voters!

“Progressives have been leading a slow grassroots ballot reform effort in municipal committees” (Charles Stiles Asbury Park Press 6/3/22). Their clarion call; divide the people, eliminate political norms and wipe away 150 years of Holmdel tradition. Followers of Chairman Kin Gee (Holmdel Charter Commission) rightly observed we residents were fast asleep during last July’s covid lockdown when their plot was hatched.

Holmdel remains a conservative township in an increasingly liberal state. The political operatives, lawyers and disgruntled, power hungry and outright vengeful politicians conspiring to flip Holmdel are counting on and now benefiting from lucrative and rewarding attention from Trenton and Washington. Realization of their woke dream will yield nightmarish results. Our Township Committee and advisory boards will be dissolved, political affiliations outlawed and elections held on non-traditional dates. Their mantra; burn it down now. Don’t ask questions. Let chaos be your new normal.

The commissioners contempt for the public is evident by concluding a Yes / No question in November would have been “too confusing” for voters. Methodically plotting in the dark of Zoom meetings, they determined July 26 was the ideal time for a critical vote, ensuring low turnout during this most popular vacation week. Having spent $17,000 with another estimated $50,000 for this special election, they anticipate memorializing their dream of revolution into law. Could you have imagined you were voting for this unfunded, insidious nonsense last November?

It’s time for Holmdel voters to wake up and stand up for our values. In addition to facts that do not support a conversion in government from the most popular form of township government (Township Committee) to the least popular form (Council-Manager), residents should outright reject this scheme of deception, obfuscation and consummate sneakiness. Learn more about the players, the promises and untold truths at saveholmdel.org. Please preserve Holmdel’s values, culture and rural setting. Vote NO July 26.
