Sayreville Man Badly Injured When BMW Flips On Parkway July 21
A 38-year-old Sayreville man had to be pulled from his flipped-over BMW by Holmdel and Hazlet firefighters, and Holmdel First Aid Squad.

HOLMDEL, NJ — There was a very serious three-car accident on the Garden State Parkway in Holmdel late Friday night, and a 38-year-old Sayreville man had to be pulled out from his flipped-over BMW using the "Jaws of Life" and rushed by helicopter to the nearest trauma center.
The crash occurred at 12:11 a.m. Saturday near milepost 116.9 in Holmdel and three people total were injured, although only one of them seriously.
The crash happened as many highway accidents do: A car hit another that was pulled off on the shoulder. A BMW headed south in the local lanes struck a Volkswagon Jetta; the Jetta was pulled over on the shoulder, but was partially sticking out in the left lane, New Jersey State Police Trooper Alejandro Goez told Patch. That caused the BMW to veer off the road, hit the guardrail and flip over, landing upside down on its roof in the express lanes, where it struck a Toyota Camry.

The driver of the BMW, Neal Rastetter, 38, of Sayreville, sustained serious injuries. He was flown by medical helicopter to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. NJ State Police said they did not receive any updates to his medical condition as of Monday morning, and they usually are notified if a person does not survive.
