State Aid For Hazlet Schools Decreases For 2020-21 Year: Report

This upcoming year, Hazlet public schools will receive $11 million from the state, down 8.9 percent from last year.

HAZLET, NJ — Gov. Phil Murphy released his revised state aid figures last week, leaving Hazlet public schools with about one million less than they did last year.

For the upcoming 2020-21 school year, Hazlet public schools will receive about $11 million from the state, down 8.9 percent from the $12 million received in 2019.

This year's $11,007,752 grand total will include $1,936,203 in special education aid, $91,986 in transportation aid and $71,011 in security aid.

The first day for Hazlet schools is Sept. 8, and the district is still on track to do its hybrid plan, with half the students in school on rotating days of the week.
