School administrators said they received word at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday that a potential threat had been made to William R. Satz Middle School.

The alleged threat was communicated verbally between two students following an altercation at dismissal earlier that day, said Holmdel police.

"As a community, when we see something or hear something, we must say something and report it to our schools and law enforcement. Please help us by reminding your children of this and asking them to avoid spreading potential misinformation via social media and instead to first seek the advice of an adult," said McGarry.
