Holmdel School Deemed Safe After Suspicious Phone Call
Students were returned to class just after noon, the superintendent said.

HOLMDEL, NJ-- A suspicious phone call was investigated Friday morning at Village School in Holmdel, police said. It was not immediately clear what was said in the phone call.
The school was evacuated for approximately an hour as a result of the call. Both the building and parking lot was thoroughly searched by law enforcement and canines before students were allowed back in the building.
"It is clear to me that our emergency procedures are sound and well practiced," Superintendent Robert McGarry wrote to parents in an email, "As I will be extending my thanks to our tremendous staff, I ask that you please extend my thanks to your child for demonstrating exceptional behavior during this situation this morning."
