3 Spartans Tackle All-Star Game Opportunity

The 2012 football season didn't end the way the Sparta Spartans wanted it to, with a three-point loss in the North 1, Group 3 championship game.

That could leave a sore taste in any player's mouth, but for three seniors, one more chance at strapping on the cleats is right in front of them.

Offensive linemen Joe Whitney and Ryan Sisco, along with running back Cody Armando, have all been named to the West team for the Paul Robeson East vs. West All-Star Game.

All three will suit up Tuesday night for a 6:30 p.m. kick-off at Paul Robeson stadium in East Orange. This is the classic's 20th tilt, with the East holding a commanding 17-2 overall lead.

The Spartan representatives are joined by players from the greater Morris and Sussex County areas. Sparta went 9-2 in 2012 before the championship game loss to Ramapo.
