Duban Avenue's Catizone Named Hopatcong Teacher of Year
Carmela Catizone, a fifth-grade teacher, takes the reigns from NJ Teacher of Year Danielle Kovach.

Hopatcong's Board of Education work session Monday night at the administration building was a brief gear-up date for next Monday's regular meeting, during which the Band Parents' Association and Director of Guidance Gina Cinotti are expected to make presentations.
But that doesn't mean it was uneventful.
The Board of Education announced Duban Avenue fifth-grade teacher Carmela Catizone was named the district's Teacher of the Year. Catizone will now compete in the Sussex County Teacher of the Year race.
Tulsa Trail third-grade special education teacher Danielle Kovach won last year's title.
Catizone was not at the work session.
Also, the board said Daniel Riegel and Adam Kiely were named the high school's scholastic students of the month while Heather Yaros took home the athletics honor and Sarah Indano was tabbed for the instrumental honor.
