Rock, Ribs & Ridges brings together live rock music, award-winning barbecue and family-friendly entertainment for a three-day festival at the Sussex County Fairgrounds. Attendees can enjoy performances from nationally known artists while sampling ribs and barbecue from top pitmasters throughout the weekend. Lake Hopatcong Fireworks
When: Friday, June 26, 2026, 9 p.m.
Where: Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club | 75 North Betrand Road, Mt. Arlington
Admission: Free
The Lake Hopatcong Fireworks light up New Jersey’s largest lake with an annual community celebration organized through a partnership of local municipalities, businesses and residents. Spectators can enjoy a spectacular fireworks display over the water made possible by community sponsors and area first responders.

Denville Days
When: Friday, July 3 – Sunday, July 5, 2026; event times vary by day
Where: Gardner Field | 1 St Marys Pl, Denville
Admission: Free
Just 20 minutes from Sparta, Denville Days is a three-day Independence Day celebration featuring live music, family activities, food vendors, contests and community events at Gardner Field. Visitors can enjoy everything from a car show and artisan displays to a fire truck display, fireworks and activities for all ages throughout the holiday weekend.

Just 15 minutes from Sparta, the Sussex County Miners' Sons of Liberty Weekend celebrates America's 250th anniversary with baseball, patriotic tributes and the biggest fireworks displays in team history. The two-night event also honors military members and first responders while raising funds through a special jersey auction. You can purchase tickets here.
Sparta Fourth Of July Parade
When: Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 10:30 a.m.
Where: Parade along East Shore Trail to Dykstra Park (4 Mohawk Ave, Sparta)
Admission: Free
The Sparta Fourth of July Parade brings the community together to celebrate America's 250th anniversary with patriotic displays, music, floats and family-friendly fun. Hosted by Sparta Elks Lodge #2356, the event is the only Independence Day parade in Sussex County and features local businesses, organizations and community groups.
Independence Day Picnic
When: Saturday, July 4, 2026, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Where: Dey Mansion | 199 Totowa Rd, Wayne
Admission: Free
History and holiday fun come together at the Dey Mansion's July 4th Picnic in Wayne, located about 35 minutes from Sparta. The celebration of America's 250th birthday features live music, lawn games, food and family-friendly activities on the grounds of the historic site.
