Goodbye Friday to Rock Meadowlands State Fair

Hopatcong band Goodbye Friday is preparing to head to the Meadowlands where it will play multiple shows in one day on July 1, 2, 4, 9 and 10 for the State Fair.

Patch spoke with bassist Mark Braun, a high school senior, to get the inside scoop on the event that could propel Goodbye Friday into the iPods of up to 400,000 people.

What’s the upcoming show all about? When? Where?

It is two or three shows a day on July 1, 2, 4, 9, 10 on the American stage at the State Fair at the Meadowlands.

How will you be getting through this five-day show? Where will you be staying? What will you do when you're not playing?

We are going to play and rest in our tour bus or at a hotel nearby.

Are you looking forward to the show?

I am very excited, however, I know that it is going to be very exhausting. But I am looking forward to the experience.

How will this show compare to any other show you've done so far?

This show will be very different because it is three shows for the price of one. So throughout the day we are going to have to play, then shower, then rest and then do it all over again another two times a day.

What do you hope this show will do for the success of the band?

We hope to gain more fans and exposure due to the fact that there are going to be 400,000 people at this event.

What else is going on with the band that you think is important?

We are in the process of recording an EP. We’re also in the process of shooting a music video. We are shooting a live music video on July 2 of our sets. Make sure you come so you can be in our video!
