Hopatcong Parade Saturday, Sparta Monday As Sussex Co. Communities Mark Memorial Day
Hopatcong's rain-or-shine ceremony follows its parade at Veteran's Field; Sparta's procession ends at Dykstra Park with a ceremony & lunch
HOPATCONG, NJ - Hopatcong Borough and Sparta will be commemorating Memorial Day this weekend with several events planned.
Hopatcong
The borough will hold its Memorial Day Parade Saturday, May 23, stepping off at 10 a.m. from Borough Hall and ending at Veteran's Field Memorial Park at 11 a.m. A ceremony will follow at Veteran's Field Memorial Park from 11 a.m. to noon. The ceremony will proceed rain or shine.
Borough officials are looking for convertible vehicles to participate in the parade.

Sparta
Sparta VFW Post 7248 will organize the Sparta Township Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 25, beginning at 10 a.m. Participants should line up along East Shore Trail near the Lake Mohawk Marina starting at 9 a.m.
The parade will end at Nicholson Pavilion in Dykstra Park, where a Memorial Day ceremony will take place. A complimentary lunch and refreshments will follow at the Sparta VFW. Lineup updates and changes will be posted on the Sparta VFW Facebook page.
