Hopatcong Senior Wins National Scholarship
Alec Grabinski was awarded a 2013 national Just Give Back scholarship.

A scholarship program started by a 1995 Hopatcong graduate has chosen to honor a 2013 Hopatcong senior.
Kevin Lundy's Just Give Back foundation has awarded Alec Grabinski a $500 scholarship. Just Give Back recognizes graduating seniors across the country that exhibit a strong commitment to civic participation through their involvement in community service and Grabinski is the sixth Hopatcong High School senior to receive this national scholarship.
According to Lundy, Grabinski has focused much of his community service on giving back to his church community. He regularly volunteers with its vacation bible school and other activities. Grabinski has also spent considerable time tutoring students outside the school day. In addition to his time giving back through community service, Grabinski excels both academically and athletically. As a completely well-rounded student, Alec is a member of the National Honor Society and captain of the soccer team. Grabinski was also given the honor by his peers of being elected to leadership in the Student Council.

“Alec is not only contributing to his community, he is touching lives,” said Lundy. “Alec has contributed back countless hours of civic participation during high school and is deserving of this award. We congratulate him and wish him well in his next steps.”
The Just Give Back Fund was founded in 2008 by Lundy, a 1995 graduate of Hopatcong High School. Its mission is to reward graduating seniors nationally for their community service and civic participation. Since its founding, the Fund has awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships including $3,000 to Hopatcong High School seniors. This year, Alec Grabinski joins winners from Henryville Jr/Sr High School in Indiana and Newburyport High School in Massachusetts. Just Give Back remains committed to its goal of awarding scholarships in all 50 states over the next several years.
