Hopatcong State Park Closed For Swimming
Swimming is currently off-limits at the park, the park's official website says.

HOPATCONG, NJ — Hopatcong State Park is closed for swimming until further notice, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection says.
UPDATE, Aug. 1: The park has reopened for swimming.
The park closed to swimmers on Monday, and remains closed as of Tuesday after a failed water sample test. Another sample was taken yesterday, an NJ DEP spokesperson said, and if that sample comes back with acceptive levels the park could reopen as early as Wednesday.

The New Jersey State Park Lifeguard Tournament is currently scheduled for this Thursday at the park. It's not clear if the swimming ban will affect the tournament.
