Infant Was In The Car During Drunk Hit-And-Run: Sparta Police
The baby was uninjured but crying, police said.

SPARTA, NJ — A man was arrested after allegedly getting into a drunk hit-and-run with his infant daughter in the car, Sparta Police said.
Christopher Ray, 33, of Newtown, faces multiple charges, including drunk driving and endangering the welfare of a child, stemming from a March 10 crash. According to police, Ray struck another car on Rt. 15 and drove away. The other drive followed him, eventually pulling Ray over about a mile away from the crash. The other driver told police that Ray offer him cash in exchange for not calling the police, police said.
Police say Ray's infant daughter was in the back seat, crying but uninjured. She was picked up from the crash scene by her mother.

Ray was asked to preform field sobriety tests, which he failed, according to police. He was taken to a hospital for a medical condition before being released to police. He was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, contempt of court, DWI with a minor as a passenger, refusal to consent to breath tests, DWI within school zone, reckless driving, failure to report accident, leaving the scene of accident and failure to yield right of way.
He was taken to Keogh Dwyer Correctional Facility with a court date.
