Nearly $887K In Federal Education Funding Proposed For Hopatcong Schools

HOPATCONG, NJ — More than $886,000 in proposed federal funding could help Hopatcong schools provide academic and special education services for the new 2026 to 2027 school year. The Board of Education will consider the funding Monday.

The board’s Aug. 24 agenda calls for the district to accept and apply for $254,132 through the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act.

That includes $181,174 in Title I funding, $31,635 through Title II, $13,372 through Title III, $15,102 in Title III immigrant funding and $12,849 through Title IV.

The district would also join the Andover Regional, High Point Regional and Hampton school districts in a consortium for Title III funding.

Another proposal seeks $632,354 through the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Of that amount, $610,394 would support services for students ages 3 to 21, while $21,960 would be designated for preschool students ages 3 through 5.

The proposed funding remains subject to board approval.
