The Newton Theatre is holding an open audition on Saturday, June 23rd for actors to play the roles in The Wizard of Oz.
TNT is excited to bring this classic story to life. The audition will take place from 12:00-2:00PM at the Newton Theatre Arts Academy 219 Spring Street Newton NJ. Please use the Main Street entrance.
Actors should bring a song on CD, wear comfortable clothes and bring a headshot and resume if possible. No experience is necessary.

All roles will be played by children. Director Laura A. Rizzo is expecting to cast about 30 people. Children, ages 6-18, may audition 12:00PM-2:00PM. The iconic roles to be cast include Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tinman, Cowardly Lion, as well as Glinda, the Wicked Witch of the West, and the Wizard of Oz. The ensemble will include all chracters in Munchkinland. There are non-singing lead roles also available. Rizzo and her artistic staff of music director, Hal Keshner, and Stage Manager Melissa Gabilanes, will run rehearsals Monday- Friday 9am-3pm August 6th -17th . The performance date is Sat. August 18th at 3:00pm and is open to the public.This is a tuition based summer theatre workshop the fee is $375 for the 2 weeks program.
