It's not known when, or if, she will ever wake up, her family says.

But the family of 23-year-old Grace Honigsberg have been fighting, anyway, months after a horrible accident on the ice nearly took her life.

Now they're asking for the public's help to help save the New Jersey beauty queen.

Honigsberg, a single mother who was once dubbed "Miss Frankford," was admitted to the surgical ICU at Morristown Memorial Hospital on Feb. 20 after suffering a traumatic brain injury she suffered in a car accident, according to her GoFundMe page.

Honigsberg, who also has multiple skull fractures, was found comatose at the scene of the accident and has remained in a coma ever since, according to the GoFundMe page.

She is considered in critical condition, although she is still fighting multiple symptoms of the high fever, bacterial pneumonia and another infection, according to the page.

"She is still in a coma and on a ventilator. It is not known when she will 'wake up,' " the page said.

The doctors are predicting at least a year for her recovery and her expected deficits are unknown at this time, according to the page.

When she is released from critical care, she will be transported to a rehabilitation hospital, according to the page.

Honigsberg lives on her family farm in Sussex County with her 4-year old daughter, mom, step-dad and younger brother. She's a member of the NJ Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers and is heavily involved in the Sussex County 4-H program, leading several 4-H clubs.

"She loves spending time on her boyfriend's dairy farm, Deckertown Holsteins, in Wantage, and has a particularly close relationship with her cow, Clarissa, whom she hand raised," the page said

Her mother, Natalie Burger, has been by her side in the ICU since the night of the accident.

Although Honigsberg has insurance which will cover the majority of her hospital stay, her rehabilitation stay will be "long and hard," the page said.

"Any assistance that you can provide to Grace and her young daughter is greatly appreciated," the page said. "Help spread the word!"

There have been a few signs that she may be turning a corner, and a breakfast fundraiser for Honigsberg has been planned by members of Sussex County 4-H at the Newton Applebee's for 8-10 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, according to the New Jersey Herald.

Grace, who said on her Facebook page that she's from Montville, said she was making an extra effort to take care of herself before the accident.
