Iconic NJ Mall Sign Smashed To Pieces By Hit-And-Run Driver
Authorities say the vehicle involved is likely severely damaged.
SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ — A concrete sign outside of a Sussex County shopping center was destroyed by a vehicle this weekend, and police are seeking help from the public.
On Saturday, around 10 a.m., a vehicle driving on Route 94, passing the rear entrance to the Shoppes at Lafayette, slammed into the mall’s brick and concrete monument sign, authorities said.
The driver then left the scene of the crash, officials added.

More than half the sign has been destroyed, with brick and rubble surrounding it.
Authorities say that the vehicle responsible would be severely damaged as a result of the crash.
