Obituary: Barbara “Penny” Lanier passed away Friday May 25 at her home in Hopatcong. She was 65 years old. Born in Bronx, NY on June 10, 1946 to the late Charles and Patricia (O’Malley) Hughes, Penny has resided in Hopatcong for many years. She worked as a payroll administrator for the County of Morris at Morris View Nursing Home in Morris Plains. Penny was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother whose greatest joy was time spent with her family. Beloved mother of Gina Phillips and husband Don, Gary Lanier and Tammy Lanier. Loving grandmother of Jason and Andrew Phillips, T.J., Rabecca, Jonathan, Kenneth, Christopher, Victoria, Alex and Breanne Lanier. Adoring great grandmother of Anthony, Logan and Hailee. Longtime companion of William Fallucca. Dearest sister of Pam Cornwall, Pat Magee, Gail Lucy, Raymond Speckman and the late Theresa Mahers. Services will be privately conducted by Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home.
