Obituary: Edward “Eddie” Ambrose of Hopatcong passed away Saturday June 23 at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Clare’s Hospital in Dover. He was 70 years old. Born in New York City, Eddie has resided in Hopatcong for many years. He was retired from his employment with the New York City Department of Sanitation. Eddie served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1964-1966. He enjoyed caring for his lawn and garden and was a skilled small engine repairman. Eddie leaves behind his dearest friends, Colleen and David Thomas and their children D.J. and Stephen. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Eddie’s Life Celebration on Tuesday June 26 from 7-9 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing. A Military Honors ceremony will begin at 7:30 pm and a prayer service will be offered at 8:30 pm. Eddie's wishes were to be cremated. Cremation was held privately. Eddie’s cremated remains will be interred privately at a later date at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Arneytown, NJ.
