Seniors Inc. at St. Jude's, Last Day of HSPAs

Also, the Democratic Club meets.

1.    Hopatcong is traditionally a Republican borough, a GOP den. But not everyone flies under the elephant flag. Tonight, Hopatcong's Democratic Club meets at 7:30 at the Civic Center. Word on the street is the club will discuss its upcoming "Meet the Candidates" night.

2.   Speaking of Civic Center meetings, the Hopatcong Warriors youth football program will go over business at 8:30 p.m. Their first meeting set the stage for what so far has been a successful season—at least in terms of child and parent participation. If you've got a child interested in football, heading over here and speaking with league President Dan Titus might not be a bad idea.

3.   On the high school sports front, Hopatcong's got a pair of soccer games. The girls varsity team travels to Hackettstown at 4 p.m. while the boys host the Tigers at the same time. Both squads have gotten off to solid starts, despite the girls dropping their previous contest.

4.   Recently retired? You might find some friends at Hopatcong's Seniors Inc. meeting at St. Jude's Parish at 10 a.m. Go ahead and talk about issues facing borough senior citizens. [Related note: Did you know today is Bald and Free Day? Celebrate your shiny dome!]

5.   Today's the last day of High School Proficiency Assesment tests. Might want to ask your high school seniors how they went. If your kid was sick, make-ups are scheduled to begin next Tuesday.
