'Sparta Helps Healthcare Heroes; Expands Campaign
The group started on FaceBook, and is now looking to expand their reach within and across the community.
SPARTA, NJ - It started on Facebook and has now expanded out to a fundraiser page and Amazon wishlist, all with the goal of helping those on the front lines of the new coronavirus, or COVID19, pandemic.

Sparta Helps Healthcare Heroes, under the direction of Melissa Prestipino and her leadership team, residents across town, and across demographics, have been working tirelessly to support local healthcare heroes on the front lines of the COVID19 battle, according to Sparta Deputy Mayor Christine Quinn.

"The group started on FaceBook, and is now looking to expand their reach within and across the community," she said. "With your help, we can achieve this goal."
Indeed the group launched a GoFundMe page on March 28 that has reached over $18,000 in donations and has started an Amazon wish list.

"During times when our lives are collectively altered with disruption, fear, and uncertainty beyond our control - it is imperative that we seize control of what we can - which is our response," Quinn said. "This organization has provided countless resident volunteers the opportunity to take back control and turn fear into focus, disruption into deployment, and uncertainty into 'unbelievable.'"
