71-Year-Old Woman's Life Lost In Sussex County Home Blaze
The fire, which happened early Sunday morning in Hampton Township, remains under investigation.
HAMPTON, NJ — Neither the identity of a woman nor the details of the home blaze that took her life on Sunday morning have been released yet.
The New Jersey State Police, one of the agencies investigating the fire, could only verify on Monday morning, that “there is one confirmed fatality of a 71-year-old female,” said New Jersey State Police Spokesperson, Trooper Brandi Slota.

Slota said the woman’s name couldn’t be released as of Monday morning, as authorities were still attempting to notify her relatives of her death.
The fire is believed to have started at the home on Lone Pine Trail in the Crandon Lakes area shortly after 6 a.m. on Sunday, with details as to the cause of the fire not yet available either, Slota said, with the incident still under investigation.
