6 Injured In Head-On Crash On Route 34, Police Say

HOWELL, NJ — Six people were seriously injured in a head-on crash on Route 34 late Friday night, Howell police said Tuesday.

The crash was reported at 11:57 p.m., Howell Sgt. Kyle Bush said.

A 2022 Dodge Charger driven by a 36-year-old Brick Township resident collided with a 2023 Toyota BZ4 driven by a 73-year-old East Brunswick man, Bush said.

The driver of the Dodge was traveling alone, he said.

The driver of the Toyota had four passengers: two 22-year-olds from Freehold Township, a 21-year-old from Marlboro and a 22-year-old from Mantoloking, Bush said.

Police declined to release the names of the six people because the crash remains under investigation.

All six were seriously injured and were taken to an area hospital for treatment, Bush said.

In addition to the Howell Township Police Department, the other responding entities include: Howell Police EMS, Howell Township First Aid & Rescue Squad 1, Freehold EMS, Atlantic Health Paramedics, JFK Paramedics, Adelphia Fire Company and Squankum Fire Company.
