Bomb Threat Clears Out Walmart In Howell
Howell police are continuing to investigate and ask anyone with information to contact them.
HOWELL, NJ — A bomb threat that briefly closed Walmart in Howell on Monday has been deemed unfounded, Howell police said.
The threat was called into Lakewood's 911 center initially at about 2 p.m. Monday, Howell Detective Sgt. John Barroqueiro said early Tuesday.
The store, at 4900 Route 9 in Howell, was immediately evacuated, Barroqueiro said.

Howell police, assisted by K-9 units from the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office, Marlboro police and Manasquan police, searched the property but determined the threat was unfounded, he said.
The Southard Fire Department and Howell First Aid Squad also responded.

The store was reopened about 5:30 p.m., Barroqueiro said.
