Child Identification Program a Hit For Local Parents
Event was held at Twin Pond Farms on Friday afternoon
On Friday afternoon at there was more for parents to do at the popular establishment than buy some of their well known baked goods or take their children through the seasonally constructed corn maze.
The farm played host to a program offering parents the chance to have a digital identification packet made for their children. More than 200 families came out for the chance to have their little ones get digitally finger printed and have the photo taken in case of any future emergencies. Chris DiGregorio, one of the owners of the business said when they were approached to host the program it was an easy decision to say yes. "We felt it was a great thing to do for children," he said. "I have small children myself and there's nothing better than keeping our children safe."
Unlike in the past where finger printing meant the children having to get ink on their fingers and risking making a mess of themselves and their surroundings, the new technology meant that in a matter of seconds the scan and the picture can be done allowing the families to get on with their day.

Asia Kyles, one of the people running the event said it was started several years ago by Court TV but is currently sponsored by television personality Nancy Grace. Kyles said the turnout in Howell was definitely a success for everybody involved. "Sometimes we do events where it's just not the same energy and we do 20 or 30 kids in four hours," he said. "The fact that we almost did 300 is perfect."
