DEP Officials to Meet with County Representatives on Thursday

Part of state plan to talk about flooding and other related issues

In the wake of Hurricane Irene and other recent powerful rainstorms, officials from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection will meet with representatives from around Monmouth County on Thursday morning. 

The meeting will be held starting at 10 a.m. at the Monmouth County Fire Academy on Route 33. Items up for discussion include stream cleaning and management, flood control and mitigation and land use. 

According to a press release from the county, the Monmouth County meeting is the first in a series the DEP plans to hold around the state. Representatives from all 53 municipalities have been invited to attend the event.
