Dogs Rescued In Howell Hoarder Raid Still Looking For Homes

Can you give one of these pups their forever home?

HOWELL, NJ-- A recent rescue of twelve dogs and two horses from a Howell home have spurred attention and support for the local Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, but the Monmouth SPCA is still looking for homes for animals rescued from a different Howell home back in June.

Teddy and Khloe, pictured below, are two of 276 rescued during a ten hour operation in Howell. Dale, the reddish brown dog in the back, was taken home yesterday. The home was so severely crowded that MSPCA law enforcement officer Ross Licitra compared the rescue operation to drug raids he had been a part of with the prosecutor's office.

Most of the 177 dogs taken in by the MSPCA have found homes as part of the MSPCA's Work in Progress program, but not Teddy and Khloe.

MSPCA warns that fostering these dogs will be hard work, because of the abusive environment they grew up in. Adjusting to a new home could take these dogs weeks or months, and the MSPCA will only foster them to homes with other dogs and no small children.

The adoption team will provide families with the tools and help they need to take care of these "shy yet sweet dogs."

To foster Teddy, Khloe, or adopt any other pet from the MSPCA, you can visit the shelter in any day from 12-5 or Wednesday from 12-7, or email adoptions@monmouthcountyspca.org.
