Forecast Convinces Howell Area School Officials To Use Final Snow Day
The closures affect PARCC and HSPA testing for students.

The approaching storm and the declaration of a state of emergency declared by Gov. Chris Christie have prompted school officials in the Howell area to close schools for Thursday.
This is the third snow day for both the Howell Township and Freehold Regional High School districts, using up the three emergency closure days each district had built into their school calendars. Any additional emergency closures will extend the school year, according to the districts’ calendars.
The announcement from the Howell Township Public Schools said in addition to school being closed, all after-school and evening activities for Thursday have been canceled. All PAL activities, including those at Southard School, will be closed on Thursday. PARCC testing will resume on Friday and a revised schedule will be posted on the district’s website, www.howell.k12.nj.us.
