Help Howell Police Win $5K For The Frances Foundation

The police department is a finalist in a radio contest and needs your votes to win.

HOWELL, NJ — It's down to the last day of voting: Will the Howell Township Police Department win the vote and $5,000 for the charity of their choosing?

The department is one of four finalists in the NJ 101.5 radio station's contest honoring law enforcement officers for various good acts.

In the case of Howell police, they were nominated for their support for 7-year-old Jake Honig, the township boy who has been battling cancer since a brain tumor was discovered when he was 2 years old. The department held a 3-on-3 basketball tournament fundraiser last weekend to help with his medical bills. (See photos from the event below.)

The radio station is running a Twitter poll for the final piece of the contest (see below). Howell police were in second place as of Wednesday morning.

Howell Township police are supporting the Frances Foundation for Kids Fighting Cancer, which assists the families of children with the disease. The foundation has been a big supporter of the Honig family.
